  • NXT Robotics Gets Even 'MORE' Fun...

Even though I have not had time to get to lego robotics much I have seen the release of a number of additional sensors and related equipment. I did manage to build an alarm out of legos. all it did was sit above the item to be protected and sound an alert if anything entered a designated area and I used the touch sensor to determine if some one was messing with the robot itself. Anyway some of the sensors for NXT Robotics that are available include a Compass Sensor, a Color Sensor, an Acceleration/Tilt Sensor, longer cablesing, sensor prototype boards, Gyro sensors, IR link sensors, multi-plexors and more. Using these sensors I have seen things like Lego Segways and automatic guidance systems for model air planes... Here are some of the cool links.

  • Software Program Convicted of a Crime

So I read an article recently that really got me thinking. We talk about A.I. being developed in the future and we hear about this program or that program using A.I. and I even have messed with fuzzy logic to solve analysis problems but no one seems to really buy into any of this actually being any where close to real A.I. at least no one I know. But this article I read recently really got me thinking. Most of the people I know think that when it happens just one day we will wake up and we will have A.I. but this article really made me think about the fact that A.I. is really here but it is a gradual process. I guess the proof this article provided me was the fact that it was a bout a legal case where the court found a software program quility of practicing law without a license. Supposedly this 'program' is a smart system that knows bankruptcy law in all 50 states and was a 'expert system' which is a form of A.I. But its not like any of these programs pass the truing test. Ever so slowly this artifical intelligence is slowly waking up and sneaking into our lives. even every day systems like SQL Server support A.I. related features. So the point is I guess that A.I. is not going to just one day happen over night but that it is here already and just one day we will all wake up and realize it.
